1. Samsung has been a leader in display technology for years. What is the company’s futuristic vision for TV innovation?

At Samsung, we follow an ambitious strategy that focuses on enhancing our consumers’ experience in every aspect. We strive to revolutionize the industry by delivering the most advanced display technology, delivering the best picture quality, durability, and energy efficiency.

Across every market we operate in, we remain dedicated to achieve continuous progress, investing in next generation display technologies — ranging from SUHD to Neo QLED — to provide unmatched brightness, color accuracy and frequencyfor a future of display technology that is brighter than ever.

2. How does Samsung’s investment in R&D influence advancements in display technologies like QLED?

At Samsung, we believe that innovation is more than just a goal, it’s more of a core pillar, we invest heavily in R&D to continuously develop the innovative technologies we are using. Our research has led to improvements in Quantum Dot efficiency, better performance, and development, setting a new standard in color purity and efficiency.

Our QLED innovation journey started in 2001, when Samsung Electronics pioneered in the Quantum Dot R&D reaching unprecedented level on non-cadmium materials. We succeeded in being ahead in achieving the vivid colors required making the nano-sized particles uniform.

Despite the market challenges, In 2014, Samsung Electronics introduced the world’s first no-cadmium quantum dot material and successfully commercialized the technology with its SUHD TVs and by 2017, Samsung’s legacy of Quantum Dot mastery through QLED — its own quantum dot TV series has been solidified.

And after a decade of continuous research, investment, innovation and leadership, Samsung has established itself as aglobal leader in Quantum Dot Technology and our QLED series continue to set the industry standard, delivering unmatched color, performance, brightness and longevity.

3. Are there any upcoming display technologies Samsung is developing that could redefine the TV market?

The TV industry is evolving rapidly, and Samsung remains at the forefront of the continues research and development. Beyond QLED, we continue to invest in groundbreaking advancements like AI-enhanced upscaling, ultra-efficient panels, and next-generation technologies such as QD-OLED that made history at CES 2022 by winning the Best of Innovation award for integrating quantum dot technology and OLED displays.

For us, the future of TV isn’t just about improving screens, it’sabout transforming how people experience entertainment.

4. Quantum Dot technology is a key differentiator in QLED. How does Samsung’s Quantum Dots enhance color accuracy and brightness?

QLED stands out, due to the QD technology and its higher brightness levels, offering better color volume. Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology ensures higher brightness without sacrificing color accuracy.

In particular, Samsung successfully created nanocrystal material without cadmium and has secured around 150 patents for the technology. With this extensive expertise and technological progress, the company has introduced the safer quantum dot TVs made with materials that do not contain harmful substances.

True innovation lies in how it’s implemented. While many offer QLED in the market, not all Quantum Dot TVs are created equally. Key differences lie in how the technology is implemented and the overall quality of the display. What sets Samsung apart is our meticulous attention to details, ensuring premium viewing experience, factors such as the amount of quantum dot content, the quality of quantum dot film and the use of no-cadmium materials must be considered. our AI-enhanced upscaling and energy-efficient panels are designed to meet future consumer needs.
